Fight to Protect the Most Endangered Cat

The Iberian lynx is the world's most endangered feline species.

The Iberian lynx used to roam freely in Spain, Portugal and Southern France – but the species is now confined to two small breeding populations in southern Spain.

The IUCN conservation status of the Iberian lynx has been lowered to 'Endangered' as the population increased from 100 in 2002 to 400 in 2015 due to ongoing conservation efforts. However, they still face considerable threats from starvation (their prey food source is dwindling as rabbits face disease and population decline), habitat loss (due to human expansion) and fragmentation (increased number of roads, railways etc) and hunting.
