World War One
World War One
Beginning with a clear and refreshing look at how most European countries first ganged up on each other. We then discover what life was like for the 'Accrington Pals' in the trenches and the women who were left behind. Using some original lines from diaries and memoirs this play paints a very vivid picture of World War One. Though not the easiest of plays, it is definitely dramatic, effective and thought provoking for performers, teachers and audience. (Illustration by Anna Billington at Hayton Primary, Brampton).
